My initial experience with Steve Stockman was at this year’s Vimeo Festival. His workshop “How Storytelling Makes Better Video” was amazing. He kept coming back to the shot [what it was saying, who was the hero of the shot, . . .] It is a lot of common sense stuff that seems to go out of the window when the camera goes on. I ran out and got his book How to Shoot Video That Doesn’t Suck: Advice to Make Any Amateur Look Like a Pro and bought a bunch of copies for my friends.
