HomeMy WorkSemi-finals Queen ndlela November 7, 2024 My Work In the spirit of celebrating small wins, especially this week, I get to share some updates on how my short film script Subway Weed is fairing in script competitions. As always, I’m surprised and thrilled by any kind of artistic recognition and institutional recognition (most surprisingly) because it rarely happens. I’m especially chuffed by the recognition of institutions/places/people that create tools that I love. Two of the three updates are from those tools. I found out on October 15th that the script had made it to the semi-finals of the 2024 Scriptation Showcase Script Competition. Scriptation has become the industry standard for annotation scripts used by director and other production heads preparing for production. It is a tool I have used for several years now and so to be selected as a semifinalist is wonderful. The Final Draft/Coverfly 2024 Big Break Screenwriting Contest that I mentioned two months ago informed me that I had made it to the semi-finals. Woo hoo!! I was then informed a month later that I hadn’t made it to the finals. I would have loved to have gone beyond the semifinals but as I mentioned before I’m grateful for the acknowledgment. Then I discovered many months after the fact I had made it to the quarter-finals of the Inroads Screenwriting Fellowship Season 7. I’m not familiar with them but was grateful again for the acknowledgment. Here’s to celebrating the small wins. Leave a ReplyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
