July 4th Bronx Street Fireworks

July 4th is a fireworks holiday. Fireworks are illegal in New York State unless you have a permit. So of course the spirits of resistance means there are fireworks galore when the 4th comes around.    It got way worse the first year of the pandemic and I thought it got a lot better last year. But this year, it was out of control.

One of the interesting things that happens on the 4th is that when you walk outside at night the air is thick of smell of fireworks and the air almost looks foggy.  I forget every year then walk out and it hits me.
