Brenda Fassie – Weekend Special

Here is some Brenda Fassie magic to light up your weekend. Last week I watched a “documentary” about here t that filled in so many biographical details I didn’t know but the it was judgemental as fuck.  The “doc” never addresses any of the structural and exploitative forces that Black women during Apartheid-era (and Brenda Fassie in particular) had to deal with.

Brenda Fassie (known to many as Ma Brrr) was one of the greatest stars ever!  A major soundtrack of my life.  I had the pleasure of meeting her in London at a cobrncert where she performed  in the early 90’s. My brain almost exploded at meeting someone who had made such an impact on my life.

We miss you Ma Brrr.
