Here are some video/filmmaker resources that I have found helpful.
- BBC Film Network
- Boston Media Makers – Hosted by Steve Garfield, this is a great group of folks that meets the first Sunday (rain or shine) of every month at Doyle’s Cafe in Jamaica Plains.
- City of New York Mayor’s Office of Film Theatre & Broadcasting
- Current TV Resource Page – This is a great resource from Current TV. They have tutorials, tips, contracts and a whole bunch of other useful resources for filmmakers.
- Independent Feature Project – Better known at IFP, this org is one of the few big film organizations standing after the financial turmoil of the past decade. Membership has its perks like free screenings, discounts at movie theaters and health insurance under certain circumstances. They also host the Gotham Awards.
- Massachusetts Film Office
- NYC Apartment Lotteries – The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development lists the new and renovated buildings with subsidized apartments that are available through the buildings’ open lottery system.
- Tech Soup’s RFP Library
- Vimea Video School
- Withoutabox – the go-to place for submiting your film/video to film festivals all over the world.
