Boston Media Makers meeting – March 2011 (video)

If you look close enough, you might see glimpse of me in the video.

LiveWP (Episode 1)

This is a new project I am involved with.

Presenting . . . LiveWP.

Hosted by James Coletti and Kurt Eng, the show is a monthly video podcast about all things WordPress. It has been interesting being part of a show as it is forming and figuring itself out. I am interested to see how we make the show better with each episode. Will start editing episode 2 next week.

The MO so far is that we shoot in bars around Boston (notice the beers) and might be joined by others in the future. David Werner is on the main camera and does the voice-over. I am on camera B and did the editing. Mitcho graced us with his presence.

What Does a Movie Producer Do?

RIP Nate Dogg (August 19, 1969 – March 15, 2011)

It was the summer of 1994. The summer of Aaliyah. Two kids showed up on the music scene with a whole different vibe. We soon found out that one of them was Dr. Dre’s little brother and the other could sing his ass off. There was no escaping the sound of “Regulate” coming out of apartment windows, cars driving past, . . . Nate Dogg went on to do some of the best guest appearance on hip hop and R&B songs. My favorite being “Oh No” with Mos Def and Pharoahe Monch. Of course, how can we ever forget “HOLD UP! Heeeey all my . . .” on “The Next Episode” (He owned that song! And Xxplosive). RIP!

Musician Jahstix – Penn Station (01/13/2011)

I was rushing through Penn Station to get to the subway when I heard musician Jahstix playing his guitar and singing as part of the MTA’s Music Under New York program. It sounded great. Then I noticed the dancing and decided to capture this footage. The date stamp on the video is wrong. It was 01/13/2011.

One More Month to Script Frenzy

As if enough isn’t happening already, Script Frenzy is a month away. As I have mentioned before Script Frenzy is “an international writing event in which participants take on the challenge of writing 100 pages of scripted material in the month of April.” I had already planned to start preparing for a new script in March and this video by Script Frenzy Program Director Sandra Salas arrived right on time as a reminder.

I am putting aside the script I have been working on forever and wills start something new. It is still very fuzzy but we will see how I can get some clarity in March about the characters and story.

If you like the idea and vision of Script Frenzy. you might want to donate to keep this great effort going.

Naija Boyz – Black and Yellow – AFRICAN REMIX!!!

I guess this was inevitable partly because “Black and Yellow” was so big and because Naija Boyz seem to remix EVERYTHING. I am never quite sure if they direct these themselves.
