I was fortunate to attend director Ryan Coogler’s conversation with Eugene Hernandez at Film Society of Lincoln Center’s Summer Talks. The next day I watched his film Fruitvale Station and was really touched by it.  Coogler does an excellent job of giving us glimpses into Oscar Grant‘s life.  Grant was the 22 year old Black man who was shot by a BART police officer on New Year’s Day 2009.  Definitely go see this film.  Check out my video review below.
